Cranefly orchid (tipularia discolor)
The orchid blooms later in the summer, but I love its purple leaf during the wintertime. This one is in my yard in Hillsborough. Will Cook says that you tip the leaf and it's purple underneath. It's an excellent way to remember "tipularia"!
