Lousewort (Pedicularis canadensis) near Little Switzerland.

Also known as Wood Betony or Beefsteak (!)  Plant.  Photographed on May 12.  It took me awhile to figure out what this was.  If you click on the name of the post "Lousewort" above, the link includes a lot of information about this "hemiparasitic" plant. It's called "lousewort" because people used to think that cattle would become infested with lice upon brushing up against it.
